With over 25 years of combined professional experience, they have taught and performed across Europe, Asia and Latin America, collaborating with leading festivals, theatres, cultural events and tango communities worldwide.

Do I need a partner?
No. You are very welcome to join alone or with a partner. Many people come to their first class on their own.
I’ve never danced before — is that okay?
Absolutely. Our beginner classes are designed for complete beginners, including people who have never taken a dance class before.
Can I start straight away?
Yes. You can start anytime on Monday or Wednesday. Both beginner classes are designed as rolling classes, so you do not need to wait for a fixed start date.
Will I be behind if I join now?
No. We regularly revisit essential fundamentals, so new students can join confidently while returning students continue to refine and progress.
What is the Beginner Programme?
The Beginner Programme includes both the Monday beginner class and the Wednesday beginner class. It is the strongest start, the best value and the option most beginners choose if they want more continuity and faster progress. What is the 4-Week Foundations Pass?
The 4-Week Foundations Pass gives you one beginner class per week for four weeks. You can choose Monday or Wednesday, start anytime and build steady foundations. It is ideal if you want to attend once per week. It also includes access to on-demand class recaps and tutorials on our app, plus the same community discounts available to Beginner Programme students.
Can I upgrade after I start?
Yes. If you begin with the First Class Intro or the Foundations Pass and decide you want more continuity, you can upgrade into the Beginner Programme.
What is the £15 First Class Intro?
The £15 First Class Intro is for your first visit only. It is designed for people who are unsure and want to try one class first. After your first class, you can continue with the Foundations Pass or Beginner Programme.
Can I just attend one class occasionally?
Yes. If you prefer flexibility, you can join a single beginner class for £20. This is useful for occasional attendance, although the Foundations Pass and Beginner Programme are better for progression.
How can I stay updated and book classes?
You can download the Tango en el Alma app to join our community, book classes, view packages and stay up to date with schedules.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Smart-casual works perfectly. Shoes that allow you to move and pivot comfortably are ideal. You do not need special tango shoes for your first class.
Where do classes take place?
Beginner classes take place at Activity Room 1 & 2, Boland House, St Thomas’ Street, Guy’s Campus, London SE1 9SG, close to London Bridge.
